Dancing With God
When I meditated on the word Guidance,
I kept seeing 'dance' at the end of the word.
I remember reading that doing God's will is a lot like dancing.
When two people try to lead, nothing feels right.
The movement doesn't flow with the music,
and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.
When one person realizes that, and lets the other lead,
both bodies begin to flow with the music.
One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back
or by pressing Lightly in one direction or another.
It's as if two become one body, moving beautifully.
The dance takes surrender, willingness,
and attentiveness from one person
and gentle guidance and skill from the other.
My eyes drew back to the word Guidance.
When I saw 'G': I thought of God, followed by 'u' and 'i'.
'God, 'u' and 'i' dance.'
God, you, and I dance.
As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust
that I would get guidance about my life.
Once again, I became willing to let God lead.
My prayer for you today is that God's blessings
and mercies are upon you on this day and everyday.
May you abide in God, as God abides in you.
Dance together with God, trusting God to lead
and to guide you through each season of your life.
What a beautiful posting! It made me think of something else also. Have you ever heard the expression, "bend over backwards"? It actually means to provide extra help or "service" to someone? Well talking of dancing, sometimes in the dance, like a tango for instance, you literally have to bend over backwards! But what I'm thinking is that in doing things God's way, by letting Him lead you, sometimes you have to "bend over backwards" in your attitude of service. Which is exactly what God wants. If we are to be like Jesus, then there cannot be a limit to how we serve others. For in doing so we reflect Jesus who came not to be served but to serve. So, like the song says, I hope you dance.
ReplyDeleteHonorificabilitudinitatibus when i see this word i have no idea what it means so i broke it down to have it make sense. It has "honor" which means its towards a person of power. It also has "cab" and b4 that "if" then it has "litudinit" which sounds like latitude and longitude then it ends in "bus". With all this i conclude that it means That cabbie have the power if they are at the same longitudinal and latitudinal position of a bus. Regarding dancing in this day in age due to the current dance styles i dont think we should relate the motions that are done in current dancing to God. Love aLWAYS ALEX
